New Pages

Here are some of my recent pages. The first one is of a photo taken at my friend Amy's wedding. Her wedding was two years ago, but I'm in wedding mode at the moment becuase my friend Emily is getting married this Saturday and I'm starting to get really excited about it.

This is about the Lusi Austin class we did at the Penrith Paper Show. The journalling is more about the grattitude book than the class itself, which is why my heading is Count Your Blessings, because that's what I got out of the class, it got me to think hard about all the things I am blessed by.
Tribute page to INXS singer Michael Hutchence. I made this page last Thursday, which was the 10th anniversary of his death. I'm a huge INXS fan, and after seeing and hearing all the INXS tributes on Thursday I was inspired to create my own.
Photos from Camille's birthday.
This is of my first swim of the season. I love swimming and was very excited that it's that time of year again, so decided I needed to create a page in celebration.
This last page is about how I catch up with my friend Melinda every Thursday.

New Hair Do

I got some money for my birthday, so I decided to get my hair done. I got it cut & coloured. The base colour is two shades darker than my natural brown hair and I then had lighter streaks put over top. After the hairdresser had blow dryed my hair she straightened it. When I got home I almost didn't recognize myself! Particularly without any of my natural fuzz! But you should see it today, I washed it last night & it's now even fluffier than before!

Birthday Pics

Here are some pics from my birthday. This first one is of me with the flowers I got from the guys at work.
Here is a mish mash of photos from my party. It was a great day. I had so much fun, and it looked like everyone else had a good time too.
It was so great to spend time with my family and friends. Thankyou to everyone who came and hepled me celebrate. A special mention to Heidi, Sarah, Mark, Beth, Jeneen, Neale and Dylan who all came a fair way to be there. It was great to catch up with you all.
I told Dad that I didn't want him to give a speech, so he decided he would do a presentation instead. I think that was probably even more embarrassing! He got out some letters, stories and pictures I had done when I was little, but then came the most embarrassing part, he played a tape he had recorded of me singing Walk The Dinosaur when I was 7. Oh no! I was horrified!
And this is my cake. It's a chocolate berry ice cream cake from Wendys. It was delicious.

It was a great party. I had so much fun. A few months ago I had decided that I didn't want to have a party, but I am so glad that I changed my mind!

Scrapping With Soul

I had a great time at Scrapping With Soul yesterday. I was sitting with Jess, a friend of mine from school, so it was really great to catch up with her. And I got a fair few projects done.

This layout features lyrics from Imagine by John Lennon. It's my favourite song at the moment and the verse I've used really jumped out at me, so I wanted to include it on a layout.
Another layout about my Year 12 formal, I have so many now!
Page about our work Christmas party.
Another photo from the work Christmas party, this is our nurse Amy with her bubby Ella.
One more from the work Christmas party of Karen and Jenny.

Page about my night babysitting Tasha, Jhorjie, Dominic & Gracie.
Melinda & Emma
Page about the Penrith Paper show. I used the business cards I accumulated on the day, inspired by a layout by Ali Edwards where she used tags on a layout about a shopping trip. I also used one of Lusi Austin's stamps, which was also from the paper show.
Towards the end of the night I was a bit over doing layouts so I made a few cards. These 2 are my favourite ones. I made them both with the intention of them having a masculine look.

21 Today

Today is my 21st birthday. I had a lovely day with lots of celebration. It started at 6:30 this morning when I got back from taking Ziggy for a walk. Mum & Dad took me into the lounge room to open my pressies. I got spoiled! I got a new sound system, an ipod, a U2 book and a digital photography book. Then at work I got lots of hugs and birthday wishes. And they had a bunch of flowers delivered for me, which I was so stoked about because I have never been given flowers ever before. I also got a card and a cake, which was huge and had Happy 21st Birthday Haylee written on it. Then Mum, Dad, Gran and I went out to dinner at the North Nowra Tavern. It was very nice. I had the seafood plate which was very yummy. Gran gave me a beautiful necklace and earring set, of my birthstone topaz. She also gave me a crystal set and a dinner set, which she has owned for a long time, so it was very special to receive something that means a lot to her and holds lots of memories for her.
So it's been a really good day, and I'm really looking forward to the weekend. Scrapping With Soul tomorrow is going to be so much fun, I have so many projects planned, and then I've got my party on Sunday, which will be good too.

Check out this video

You have to watch this video. It is too cute. I was babysitting Tasha, Jhorjie & Dominic last night & at one point Tasha & Jhorjie said they wanted to sing me a song. So I thought ok, it will probably be a nursery rhyme or something. So I was quite shocked when they started singing Voodoo Child by the Rogue Traders. I wasn't surprised that Tasha knew it, but I didn't think Jhorjie would know it. They were both really good too. I already knew Tasha was a good singer, but Jhorjie's got a good little voice too. We may have two little popstars on our hands!!!

Lovely Day

It may have been a wet, miserable day today but I still had a good day. I went to the Greenwell Point Chinese for lunch with my friends Melinda and Emma and Melinda's daughter Kaitlyn, and then we went to town for a bit of shopping. It was good fun. I've been getting together with Melinda every Thursday for the last few months which has been really good, but I hadn't seen Emma for a couple of years so it was really good to catch up with her.
This is Kaitlyn driving my car. We'd arrived home and were trying to get her out of the car but she decided it was her turn to have a drive instead!

Grattitude Book

Tonight I finished the Grattitude book I started in Lusi's class yesterday. I seriously thought it would take me forever to finish but I got home from work tonight and was inspired to just go for it. The pages aren't too fancy becuase I wanted to keep the focus on the photos & journalling.
I am grateful for my family
I am grateful for my friends and scrapbooking
I am grateful for our pets
I am grateful for my job and my faith

I am grateful for the extended family and for our pool
I am thankful for the beauty of nature and fun times with family
I am grateful for travelling and Christmas
I am grateful for our house and Scrapping With Soul days
I am grateful for my school friends.
I am so glad I took Lusi's class because this was an important project for me to do. As I was putting it together I was really thinking about all these things and how much they give to my life. I definitely don't take enough time to sit back and think about what I am truly grateful for. So thankyou Lusi for inspiring me to think over the things I am grateful for, and thankyou for a great class. It was a lot of fun.

Paper Festival

Today Mum & I went up to Penrith for the Paper Festival. We both had a great time. I can't believe I haven't been to one before. I am definitely going next year! I spent just over my budget, so I guess that's not too bad. I mostly bought papers. I'm a bit of a paperholic! But I did buy other cool stuff. I particularly stocked up on things I don't have much of, like flowers, rub ons and cut out words.

We also attended a Lusi Austin class which was a lot of fun. She took us through making a grattitude book, and I really enjoyed the session, even though I hardly got anything done! And I kept making mistakes, but hey, in scrapbooking you make mistakes, but instead of panicking just fix them and move on. So I will cover up my mistakes and finish my book (hopefully sometime soon!). But we had a lovely time with Lusi and Sue, the other lady in the class. Mum won the lucky door prize and said to me "I can't believe I won" and I said "well you did have a one in three chance!"
Anyway, it was an awesome day, and now I have to get down to some serious scrapping with my new stuff!
