Christmas Celebrations

Christmas may only be one day of the year, but the celebrations take up pretty much all of December. Here are some photos of some of our Chrissy celebrations. This first photo is of Gran & Dad on Christmas morning.

This is a mish mash of our family lunch on Christmas day. It turned out to be quite a dramatic day, with both Stephen & Tasha spending Christmas morning in hospital. They both did come to our lunch, even though Stephen's back was still causing much discomfort and Tasha was still not very well at all, but we really do appreciate both you guys coming over to see us all, it wouldn't have been the same without seeing you guys. And then Erin & Mark had to leave early to rush off to Sydney as Erin was heading off to New Zealand. Hope you have a great time in New Zealand Erin, I'm sure you will, it's a lovely country. So our gathering didn't run quite so smoothly, but we got to see our family on Christmas day, and that is the most important thing.

This is me with Karen & Sarah, two of my good work buddies, at the Southern Pathology Christmas party.

A few weeks ago Meagan's family came over for a little Christmas celebration. (Meagan is my brother's girlfriend). And I was babysitting Jhorjie & Dominic, so there was quite a few of us. It was a good day. The Smiths were coming over for lunch, but ended up staying until about 10pm that night! They are a lovely family, we like spending time with them, but we don't actually have them over very much.

On boxing day, Ros (one of my parent's best friends & godmother to Royce & I) and her kids Jack & Ellen came over for lunch. They live in Queensland & we haven't seen them for about 5 years, so it was really great to catch up with them. And yes that's Dominic again, he seems to be crashing all our Christmas parties!

Jack, Ellen & I spent some time in the pool.
Here is Ellen & I.
Jack doing flips into the pool.
Royce & Dominic didn't come into the pool, so they snuggled on the banana lounge instead.
Awwww!

And today my friends Sarah, Amy & Heidi came over for lunch, which was great to hang out and chat with them.
Hope you guys all had lovely Christmas celebrations.
Looking forward to 2008! Only 4 days to go!

Merry Christmas

"You are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever, his kingdom will never end." Luke 1:31-33

Christmas is such a beautiful day. It's not because of the presents, or the decorations, or the food, or spending time with family. It's beautiful because of the very precious gift God gave us that very first Christmas- His son Jesus. So this year, though I am going to enjoy spending time with my family and eating yummy food and opening presents, I am most thankful for the precious gift our loving Lord gave us that very first Christmas.

Merry Christmas all!!! Hope you all have a very lovely Christmas.

Tough Critic

I helped out my cousin Simone on Thursday by taking her kids to day care & pre school and picking them up afterwards and looking after them before & after I dropped them off. So once I had picked up her 11 month old son Dominic from day care we drove over to pick up Jhorjie from pre school. And on the drive there I was singing along to the cd that was playing & when I looked at Dominic he was blocking his ears! What a cheeky boy! Come on Dominic, my singing's not that bad!

Feeling Festive

Here we all are getting into the Christmas spirit. Don't Royce & Ziggy look very cute?
Feeny's hat was just a tiny bit too big for him!
Mum loves her sparkly hat!
Dad's hat looks more like a night cap!

Tiffy wasn't very co-operative, but I finally managed to get the antlers on her!
Jhorjie & I in our Santa hats.
Dominic is a very cute little elf.
These last two photos were taken at the Christmas party held at Gran's nursing home. This is Gran receiving her present from Santa.

Greenwell Point

A couple of months ago I took Ziggy for a drive to Greenwell Point to take some photos, so that I could do a scrapbooking page about the town I lived in for the first 18 years of my life.
But when I got home I had so many photos, so I decided to do a whole Greenwell Point album.
It's an 8x8 album, so it was a different size for me to try, and I enjoyed it. It's a good size, because for most of the pages I only wanted to use one photo, so this size is a good size for a one photo page.
This is my favourite photo, I love the way the sun in sparkling off the water, so that's what I made my layout about. This is the first page I completed for this album. It came together so easily.

This page is about a holiday park, where the units are units that the competitors in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games stayed in while the games were on.
This page is about Greenwell Point Public School, the first school I went to.
The title on this page is Peace, because that is the best word to describe Greenwell Point.
There are so many pelicans is Greenwell Point, but I was so lucky to get this photo of them all together, because they usually get scared and fly away when people come near them.
I took Ziggy back to Greenwell Point a few days later so we could get a photo of the sunset over the water.

The Sun Is Finally Shining!

For the first week of summer it hasn't been very summery. It has rained almost every day! So it is lovely to see the sun shining and feel the lovely warmth that we have got today. It finally feels like summer!

Emily's Wedding

My friend Emily got married on Saturday. She looked so beautiful and it was such a lovely service. They were blessed with lovely weather, because it had rained early Saturday morning, but had cleared up by the time the wedding was on.

50th Post!!!

I just noticed that this is my fiftieth post, so I thought I would give it a special mention!
Well yesterday was the first of December, and our tradition is to put the Christmas tree up on the first of December.
I don't know how you guys find putting up the tree, but I think it is really hard work! Only because I stress out about where everything is placed. I'm not actually happy with how the tree looks, but I'm not going to change it, because I figure I will never be happy with it.
Feeny was driving me crazy while I was putting up the tree. He kept jumping on the boxes and kept tugging on the tinsel as I was trying to wrap it around the tree.
When I first put the tree up, Feeny sat under the table and pulled on the tablecloth, which made the whole tree topple over! So I eventually got sick of him and put him outside!

I do love this photo though, where you can see his little tongue poking out!

First Day Of Summer

Yay! It's finally summer- my favourite season. Though you wouldn't think it was summer today looking out the window. It is overcast and threatening rain.
Anyway, to get you into summer mode here are some of my favourite summer layouts.
I know this layout isn't summer themed, but I wanted to include it because it is one of my favs and it was taken on Christmas Eve 2004. I have to give credit to my mum who made the quilling border as a demonstration and then told me I had to use it on a page and Cathy who made the tag as part of a tag swap we did. So all I really did on this page was throw everything together!
You can't see the heading on this page very well in this photo but it is a sticker that says Beach Comber and I had to buy it because our last name is Comber (pronounced Com- bar) so I used it on a page of me and my brother at the beach.

HAPPY SUMMER!!!
