Notice Board

Here is a notice board that I had lying around in my room for ages. I used to use it for hanging up little notes, photos, reminders and inspiring bible verses or quotes, but since I moved to Worrigee two years ago it has just been tucked away, so I decided to scrap it using a bunch of photos I had lying around.

Week Of Creating

I've been feeling sick for the last few days, but it hasn't stopped me from scrapbooking. Here some of the layouts I have created in the last week.
This first one is Jhorjie, Dominic & I
This page uses the quiet & gentle spirit bible verse from 1 Peter 3:4 that I really love.
This is about my brother & how he is often called Rhys instead of Royce.
One from my baptism
Another page of my baptism. I actually bought the baptism heading at the scrapping with soul day on the day of my baptism, coz I knew I would be doing pages of my baptism! I think it's quite special that I'm using this product on my page seeing as I bought it on that very day.

This page is where I say how grateful I am for everyone who came to support me at my baptism.
Me & Dad & his Spicks & Specks game that I got him for Father's Day
Tiffany. She is the forgotten pet, so at the moment I am focused on doing pages of her, instead of Feeny & Ziggy
Bella Rockstar
Camille & I

Weekend Pics

Here are some of my piccies from the weekend. The first one is of Camille with the pressie we gave her for her birthday, made for her by Gail. The next pic is of us playing pictionary. It was the oldies (Mum, Dad & Andrea) versus the youngies (Bella, Camille & I). The oldies won (probably beacuse I'm the worst drawer. You should have seen my pram!).
The next pic are the pink teds in bed we made for Simone's Pink Ribbon Party and the photo after that is me in my pink shirt. I'm not a big fan of pink, so I wasn't too impressed to wear pink, but then I found this shirt on the top of my wardrobe & I do like this one.
The last photo is a cute one of Charlee & Dominic playing with the same toy.

Scrapping, Swimming, Parties & More

Well after my bad week last week (particularly Friday) it was nice to have a busy weekend to keep my mind occupied.
Cass and Cathy came over on Saturday for a day of scrapping. That was a lot of fun and I managed to complete 1 12x12 and 9 6x12 layouts.
Saturday night we had pizza with Andrea, Bella & Camille to celebrate Camille's 8th birthday.
Then on Sunday we went to Simone's Pink Ribbon Day party. When I got home from Simone's it was so hot that I went straight into the pool, for my first swim of the season. I know it's not quite summer yet, but the days have definitely felt like summer days.
Then we went to visit Stephen & Davina because it was their last day at the shop before closing down. We arrived at the right time, because we got to go home with lots of freebies.
So that was my weekend, I quite enjoyed it, and now I am back on board for another week at work.

Do Dogs Snort?

I wouldn't have thought so, but our little Ziggy does. Whenever we take him for a walk he will get to a stage where he just keeps snorting. Strange I know.
Anyway look how cute he is. This photo was taken about a week after we got him. I can't believe he was that little. He is so much bigger than that now. He is almost 7 months old. Wow, where did the time go? It seriously feels like we only just got him.

How Did I End Up In Kangaroo Valley?

Today I had a really bad day. I don't know what it was but I just felt awful. And I got worse as the day went on. Then at 4pm it all got too much & I broke down. I went down to the staff room to recompose. The practice manager came down & chatted to me, then suggested I go home early. So I left work, but didn't feel like going home straight away. I didn't want to get home while I was still upset, so I decided to just drive around.
Well I headed up Illaroo Road & thought if I kept driving I might drive through Cambewarra & head back through Bomaderry (I am hopeless with directions I don't know where anything is!) Anyway, before I knew it I was on a mountain heading towards Kangaroo Valley. Now, I have never driven to Kangaroo Valley before, in fact I have never driven on a mountain before so I was quite scared at first. Then I thought, good I'll go to the lolly shop in Kangaroo Valley. But when I got there the lolly shop was closed. I was so disappointed. So then I went to the fudge shop instead & got an ice cream cone plus some fudge for later. Then I headed home.
By the time I got home I was feeling a lot better, so my drive was actually quite therapeutic. Well, I think it was a combination of the drive & the ice cream!
Anyway, at least now I can say that I've driven up a mountain!

Life Canvas

I wanted to share this quote because I think it is such a great quote. And this is a canvas that I made using the quote. Here is the quote it is from Mother Teresa:
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

Good Food Day

Today was definitely a day of good food at work. When I first arrived at 1pm there were a couple fo platters of food that a rep had bought in. I didn't have any though, because I had just had lunch. Then later when Jon went to the shop he asked if anyone wanted anything, I joked that I wanted a dozen doughnuts. I got a shock though when he actually came back with 6 doughnuts. But I didn't eat them all. I had one and Sarah had 2 and then we put the rest in the staff room. Then later another rep came in with 2 bags of scones. I don't know what's going on, but it definitely made the afternoon go quick with all that nice food!

Back To Normal

I can't wait for Monday because that's when all of the doctors will be back, which means that for the first time since about June none of the doctors are away. I am so excited because it's just been so stressful because we have had less docotors to book people in with. And the patient have still been sick even though doctors are away. How rude! Surely they should know not to get sick when doctors are away. Just joking, I know they can't help being sick. But anyway I am so looking forward to next week. I'm so excited that I think I will make a cake to celebrate. Ok that's getting a bit carried away. Because things are still going to be busy. Life is always hectic at North Nowra Medical, but now at least we will be able to get more patients in.

6x12 Layouts

Ever since I saw Sandra's 6x12 layouts on her blog I have been inspired to create some myself. So that's what I spent this weekend doing. At first I found it really hard. I found it a challenge to fit in everything, but after I completed my first layout I got into the groove, and found that they are a lot quicker to create. I completed 20 pages during this weekend.

Creative Sharing

In the AEzine/ Life Artist newsletter I received the other day it was talking about creative sharing; discovering what your most valuable scrapbooking skill is and sharing it with others. I had no idea what mine was, so I went looking through all my scrapbooking albums and what I noticed is that a lot of the time I use music in my scrapbooking pages. I often use song titles, lyrics or other references to songs or artists. A lot of the time I do it without even realizing. All of this makes perfect sense to me because I am obsessed with music. My two passions are music and scrapbooking, so it’s only natural for me to combine the two. In my everyday life I’m always thinking about music. So many times during a day a word or phrase or sight or event will lead me to thinking about a particular song. And that happens to me in scrapbooking as well. The photo or journaling or heading or memory will lead to me thinking of a song, and I will then find a way to incorporate it into my page. Below are a few examples of how I use music in my scrapbooking.

Music In My Scrapbooking Pages

This is a page of me washing my car when I was little, so I used the line Working At The Car Wash as my heading.
These photos are of us scrapbooking on New Years Day, so I used the line from the U2 song New Years Day that says "All is quiet on New Years Day" then added after it in smaller print "which is the perfect time to get down to some serious scrapbooking."
I used the lyrics of Somewhere I Belong by Linkin Park on this page of myself, as it descibes exactly how I was feeling at the time.

I found a quote that says “A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.” I loved it because it describes me and my friends perfectly. I then found song lyrics that are about friendship and included them on the page as well.

I used the song Getting To Know You as the heading for this page. My journalling then goes on to explain how my mum is getting to know her great nephew Dominic.
For this page of my friend Heidi dancing, I used the lyrics to Dancing Queen as my heading and journalling.
This page is about the song Blow Up The Pokies by The Whitlams, which is mine and Melinda's favourite song. On the red paper our favourite line from the song and on the green paper it explains why the song means so much to us.
This page is simply the lyrics to Walk On by U2. I wanted to create a page using these lyrics because I thought they were such wonderful, uplifting lyrics.

Rundown Of My Week

Wednesday: went to a sale at my local scrapbooking shop Wednesday night, only to find out that they are closing down. Sob! How will I survive without that shop? I know I still have Jindy Andy, and that is closer to me, but I really liked having both because they had different stuff, so I could get some variety.
Thursday: went to the funeral of the husband of a lady I used to work with. That was very sad. It was a lovely service and everything, but still very sad. He had been sick for a while, but his death still came quite suddenly. He started to feel a bit funny on Saturday and he was very puffy, then died during the night. It 's all very sad. What is worse is that it was his birthday the day after the funeral. And also his daughter is getting married in a couple of months, so it will be a bittersweet day for her, seeing as her father won't be there to walk her down the aisle.
Friday: was quite uneventful. The highlight of my day was watching the movie version of the musical Hair with my dad. I didn't think I'd enjoy it, but I actually thought it was really good.
Saturday: went to Huskisson with my friends Amy and Melinda, and another friend Treen met us out there. We got hot chips for lunch and ate them at the park. We sat around eating and chatting for a couple of hours. It was really nice. After that we checked out the shops.
Also on Saturday the associate pastor of my church rang me and told me that my bible study leaders had called it quits. So I don't know what that means for my bible study group. We will probably break up, ehich means I will need to find a new bible study.
Sunday: spent the day at home scrapping. It was good, I got quite a few pages done.
Monday: Cathy & the kids and Erin came over for bbq lunch followed by an afternoon of trying out our new Spick & Specks and TV trivia games. That was heaps of fun too.
And now it's back to work tomorrow. Sigh!
