All they do is cause problems and most people end up up getting them removed.
Three of my wisdom teeth need to be removed. None of them are actually causing me any pain at the moment, but when I went to the dentist for a check up he looked at them & got me to have an xray & said that one of them has a hole, another one is still growing & is growing on an angle which will dig into my gums & the other one is growing in a way that will push against my cheek or teeth or something. So he wants them removed before they cause any problems. Si I saw a specialist last Thursday & it was all set. I was booked in for April 18. So I've asked my boss for the week off.
But now we've discovered that our health cover won't cover it. We've only just joined & they don't cover anything for the first 12 months that your previous insurance doesn't cover. So that means that we need to fork out about $3000 & won't get anything back. That's really not something we can do, particularly since I'm trying to save up for my trip to Kenya in January.
So I rang my dentist yesterday & they have asked the specialist for my xray back so that they can see if it can be done there in the chair, which I didn't really want to do, but it may be my only option. They'll get back to me Tuesday or Wednesday.
So it hasn't turn out how we'd hoped, so hopefully something will be able to be sorted out.

Praying that it is all sorted out for you Haylee without a huge expense. God is an amazing provider and I am looking forward to hearing how he provides for you guys in this situation,
Uggg - dentist's scare me. Both for the pain in my mouth and in my wallet! I only ever grew two wisdom teeth and I've still got them - hmmm maybe that's why I'm so wise... Ha! Will pray that yours get sorted out without too much stress. Oh and love the layouts in the last post. :o)
Ouch Haylee,
I go to the HCF dental clinic as normal dentists still charge more that what I would have to pay at the clinic, I know if we didn't have cover I wouldn't have had any of my teeth out.
I have had 3 of mine removed at the dentist not in hospital but not at the same time, It sure is a lot of money to fork out just to have teeth removed aye.
I hope u get it worked out soon.
Wisdom teeth are no fun. I had all mine (5 of them) removed at the same time under general anesthetic because they had to grind one off my jaw bone. Ewww...I'm shuddering just thinking about it. I had no pain or trouble afterwards though.
Will pray that your wisdom teeth are sorted out soon.
i just went to the dentist cause my teeth are going crockered again and i already had braces. nd she assured me that my wisdom teeth are down an that they will not move any more. i am really fasinated in nice and straight teeth and i would be very devisated if they were yuck. as DH is Aboriginal i get to access the dentist for free, lucky me.
